Jobberman, Nigeria’s single largest online training and job placement platform is bringing together 250 employers and 10,000 job seekers in what is billed as Nigeria’s first and largest ever virtual career fair at the end of September as part of its ‘champions’ campaign.
The one-day event, Jobberman said during a live web media briefing, will see 250 potential employers from various sectors, including digital, agriculture and creative, and 10,000 highly qualified candidates come together under one virtual roof for the landmark event.
The Virtual Career Fair will be centred on how to navigate the increasingly competitive job space in Nigeria and also provide the necessary tools to get hired, with one to one interviews between candidates and employers and other sessions such as CV Preparation masterclasses.

Hilda Kragha, managing director of ROAM Africa Jobs, said at the virtual media briefing that the fair encapsulates Jobberman’s commitment to reducing the strains of unemployment and employability.
“The Virtual Career Fair perfectly encapsulates Jobberman’s commitment to alleviating the strains of unemployment and employability, by connecting thousands of qualified candidates to reputable employers, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As an innovative and technologically driven company, I am delighted that we were able to find a solution to this immediate and challenging issue, by creating this first-ever virtual space of opportunity for both employer and candidate. We strongly encourage signing-up,” she said.
According to Kragha, the online-hosted event is part of Jobberman’s mandate to use its soft skills training to place three million young Nigerians in dignified employment in the next five years, adding that firms within the agri-tech, digital and the creative sectors with operations in Lagos, Kano and Kaduna will be in attendance to showcase their brands and company cultures.
She further disclosed that the ongoing online training programme equips young people between the ages of 18 and 35 with critical tools, including business etiquette, emotional intelligence and more, to help them transition into their new roles and increase workplace productivity, noting that as a result of the pandemic, Nigeria’s unemployment and underemployment rates have climbed to an all-time high of over 40 per cent, with the 18-35 years age bracket the most impacted as the search for jobs has become an overcrowded marketplace.
Kragha stated that with over ten years in the business of recruitment, Jobberman is using its network and platform to create democratic and transparent opportunities that eliminate nepotism and enables a more productive workforce.
According to her, the Virtual Career Fair is free to all candidates who have completed the online programme and passed the end of the course assessment test, while employers already listed on the Jobberman platform can sign-up for free for the groundbreaking event and are required to commit to hiring within three months of the fair.
