First Bank launches new automated banking service in Abuja

In a move towards digital transformation, First Bank of Nigeria Plc has recently opened a Digital Xperience Centre (DXC) in Abuja, an automated self-service branch for its customers. The DXC is an end-to-end digital banking solution that allows customers to access a range of services without visiting a physical branch. Customers can use the DXC to open new accounts, make deposits and withdrawals, and perform other transactions, all with the help of an AI-powered humanoid.
During the launch of First Bank’s Digital Xperience Centre (DXC) in Abuja’s Wuse area, Adesola Adeduntan, First Bank’s CEO and managing director commented on the importance of technological innovation in the banking industry and the bank’s commitment to providing its customers with the best possible digital experience.
Adeduntan highlighted the bank’s focus on digital transformation and its efforts to build a digital-first culture, including the recent launch of its FirstDigital App.
He also noted the increasing demand for digital banking services and the bank’s plans to continue expanding its digital footprint to meet customer needs.
“For everything that we do, our customers are actually at the heart of our business strategy.Today’s event which is the commissioning of the ‘Digital Experience Center’, the third in the series within the bank is another attestation that innovation and simplicity is at the heart of our business,”he said.
Adeduntan went on to say that the pilot programme for the Digital Xperience Centre was launched in Lagos, Nigeria, in 2021 as the first of its kind in the country and represented a significant shift in the banking experience. He also noted that the DXC is located at key, high-traffic locations and is open 24/7.
The managing director further noted that these centers are located at very high traffic locations and are open to the public,for all banking issues for instance, customers can walk in and do their banking transactions,like cash deposit, cash withdrawal,transfers and ATM cards. He also assured that the center is open 24/7.
Adeduntan added that the bank is committed to innovations and next generation digital capabilities to continuously improve and provide ease of banking for their customer experience.
