By Dikachi Franklin, in Owerri

Owerri is the capital of Imo State and has been its cosmopolitan town since it was created in 1976, and now has 27 administrative structures or local government areas. It is also strategically situated that it could be reached from Port Harcourt, Enugu, Onitsha within two hours’ drive and from Aba, Umuahia within an hour. And for those using Imo International Cargo Airport it is about 40 minutes’ drive.

Owerri is famous, though bereft of industries, and what makes it tick is the hotel and hospitality sector with leisure centresdotted in every nook and cranny of the city.

Moreover, Owerri is relatively calm and tranquil when compared with other neighbouringcities, the people are naturally hospitable and loving, and as a result, people from all walks of life come into the city on daily basis to feel the warmth of the town, and its beautiful hotels, including the famous Full Moon Hotels, which recently opened its Spa Zone to the public.

According to EstherIwuanyanwu, the deputy general manager, Full Moon Hotels stands out as among its peers as a one-stop shop for hospitality.

The new Spa, she explained to Business A.M., is a business that is capable of providing a variety of services with a view to improving the health, beauty and relaxation through personal care treatments, such as massages and facials.

“Our hotel runs a day Spa and not a medical Spa. A day Spa runs services like massages, facials, waxes, manicure, body exfoliation etc. These complement our hospitality services thus making Full Moon Hotels a one-stop shop for hospitality,”Iwuanyanwu said.

The Full Moon Spa Zoneofficially opened its doors to the public on October 24, she said’ and explained that it is to provide effective and efficient services to customers and guests. It has as massage room, steam room, facial room, pedicure and manicure, as well as nail grooming facilities.

Spa is medicinal and a life support activity because it helps to de-stress, as well as helping with anti-ageing, promotes better sleep and relieves aches and pains.

This feature of the Full Moon Hotels,Iwuanyanwu said, is one of the attributes of a standard hotel or a world class hotel because Spa is medicinal as it promotes radiant skin, reduces frequent headaches, promotes better sleep.

Other merits derivable from engaging in Spa activities, include improving blood flow and circulation, preventing varicose and increase in personal happiness.

On who manages Full Moon Hotels’ Spa Zone, Esther Iwuanyanwu, herself a seasoned hotel administrator, says, “at Spa Zone by Full Moon Hotels, our trained and certified therapists are very professional and on hand to offer your body exfoliation and body polish, body steaming etc.”

Meanwhile, she tells the public and those that care for the well-being of the body and soul,”We have everything, you have to pamper your body and help you to get away from the stress of everyday life”.
