Dear Children,
On this day, as you celebrate with eating, drinking and dancing, be mindful of the risks of food poisoning, constipation and any other illnesses from the in-takes of the day; remember also not to dance and break your bones
ADVICE 1: Simply ask your parents or guardians “What is Health Insurance?” before you step out. This is the type of insurance that will ensure you receive treatment even without money if your parents or guardians got one;
ADVICE 2: When you feel sick whilst playing with your friends, stop, and inform them immediately. Don’t assume the sick feeling will go away. It might get worse and when you can’t manage it, your friends wouldn’t also be able to manage it;
ADVICE 3: Accidents often happen where children are having fun but the response matters most. Don’t think of bringing out your phones to record the moment but seek to help the victims promptly. Recording accidents don’t save lives;
ADVICE 4: You have a responsibility to your friends when you’re out together. After you’ve left your playgrounds to go home, call in to find out if your friends got home safely. It’s humanity at work, not just friendship; and
ADVICE 5: If you didn’t get an answer from your parents or guardians to your question “What’s Health Insurance?” add this to it, “Is Insurance good to have in case of accidents when we play?” Let them know you’re learning new things.
There are different insurance coverages that are of benefit to children especially when their parents or guardians die, become permanently disabled or lose their jobs, which you should #BeAware of and #BeInformed about.
Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp to get enlightened and educated about them.
Enjoy this day, which unfortunately, happens only once in a year, but who cares, every day is yours to have and enjoy.
I remain,
Assuredly Yours.
