Linkage Assurance, the non-life insurance service provider, said it paid out N2.45 billion in claims to its numerous customers that suffered losses in the first and second quarters of 2021.
A financial statement by the company showed that fire claims accounted for the largest share between January 2021 and August 2021, accounting for N869 million of the total claims.
Linkage Insurance also disclosed that it paid out N369 million on oil and gas risks, while another N247 million was paid on engineering risks.
The company further stated that N493 million was paid for motor claims, N222 million was paid for accident risk, while aviation, marine, and bond accounted for N135 million, N67 million, and N49 million respectively.

Daniel Braie, managing director/CEO of the insurance solutions company, noted that the amount of claims paid out in the period under review reflects the company’s commitment to gratifying customers’ expectations despite the numerous challenges in the Nigerian business environment.
According to Braie, Linkage Assurance has since inception, adhered to its key objectives, one of which is to ensure that its esteemed customers who suffer losses are enabled to return to their businesses without delay.
Braie noted that the company has built capacity to meet its obligation, provide cover in high-risk areas of oil and gas, aviation, engineering, among others, with strong reinsurance backing to respond to risks maturity at any given time.
“We have put in place claims management processes with a strong technology framework that ensures our customers are able to report their claims speedily from anywhere they are without having to come to our office,” he added.
The managing director further disclosed that the company’s insurance services are supported by online real-time customer service units that operate on a 24-hour timeline to respond to customers’ enquiries and complaints from any location across Nigeria.
