Nestlé Nigeria PLC recently unveiled its new Golden Morn 3-in-1 cereal, aimed to tackle nutritional deficiencies and offer a convenient and wholesome breakfast option for Nigerian consumers.

Packaged in a 45 gramme size, the first-of-its-kind ready-to-eat cereal in Nigeria has been innovatively designed to provide the additional benefit of milk to its customers.

Speaking at the unveiling event in Lagos, Wassim Elhusseini, managing director/chief executive officer of Nestlé Nigeria Plc, stated that the development of the new improved Golden Morn 3-in-1 had been a journey of meticulous planning and research spanning over two years.

“We have come to express confidence as we celebrate another milestone in the history of Golden Morn, this cherished home-grown family cereal, born in 1986, is currently the most consumed cereal in Nigeria.

“From its humble beginnings, Golden Morn has grown into the beloved brand that brings the taste of wholesome goodness to our table every morning or at any time during the day.

“Now, building on this rich heritage, we are excited to introduce Golden Morn 3-in-1, Nigeria’s favourite maize and soya cereal now comes with milk only requiring the addition of water to serve.”

“This is the first ready-to-eat cereal in Nigeria, offering consumers more convenience and cost savings in every pack.

“We employed a meticulous innovation process to achieve the right balance between nutrition and taste to satisfy consumers,” he said.

Omofasa Orhiunu, category manager for dairy at Nestlé Nigeria Plc, expressed his confidence in the new improved Golden Morn 3-in-1, stating that its affordability and nutritional value would make it an instant hit with consumers.

Orhiunu asserted that the cereal’s unique combination of affordability, convenience, and nutritional benefits would not only satisfy but also improve the nutritional status of consumers, making it an appealing and accessible breakfast solution for Nigerian households. He further projected that the new product would receive wide acceptability in the market.

The category manager noted that Nestle was committed to unlocking the power of food to enhance quality of life.

“Our ambition is to bring tasty and balanced diets within the reach of everyone in the country.

“According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation, UNICEF and World Food Programme report, no fewer than 172 million Nigerians were unable to afford a healthy diet in 2022.

“This means that for millions of people across the country, the fundamental human rights to a nutritionally adequate diet at a price they can afford remains out of reach,” he added.

Commenting further on the benefits of the new Golden Morn 3-in-1, Orhiunu stated that the cereal is fortified with a unique blend of micronutrients, branded as “Grain Smart Protect.”

This smart combination of iron, vitamins B1, B5, and C, he explained, works synergistically to support the body’s immune system, providing essential nutrients for overall well-being.

Highlighting the nutritional profile of the Golden Morn 3-in-1, Orhiunu pointed out that the cereal is not only packed with essential micronutrients but also fibre, making it an ideal choice for maintaining digestive health.

He also underscored the product’s affordability, noting that with the inclusion of milk, consumers can now enjoy a nutritious Golden Morn breakfast at a reduced cost of 32 percent.
