Toyota sets up auto care centre in Abia, aims to create jobs

Unique Integrated Auto Centre, an arm of Toyota Auto Centre Nigeria has unveiled a branch in Abia State. It is located at the Umuahia end of the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway.

Jaja Ihesiaba, one of the directors of the auto care centre, said, the place would serve as sales of Toyota and Jac vehicle parts, and provide after-sales service, as well as training of people to acquire skills on how to repair vehicles using automated and computer systems.

He said the centre would greatly improve the automobile industry in Abia State, as it would make motoring a lot easy, and elevate automobile performance.

Ihesiaba informed that the centre would play a leading role in providing skilled employment opportunities for Abians, with a wide range of activities associated with the centre such as persons with diverse skills and qualifications would find a comfortable environment to work. Also, those employed by the centre would benefit from improved livelihood.

He said they ensure high work performance and output, while they would be employing some skilled and semi-skilled labour.

Precious Mbuk, a mechanical engineer and sales representative of Toyota Automobile in the South East, who is also one of the directors of Unique Integrated Auto Centre, said he had attracted the centre to Umuahia for the people of the state to benefit, and have hands-on experience of automated and computerized vehicle repairs.

He explained that the centre uses computer to diagnose cars to ascertain the location of their faults before fixing them. He said he had worked in so many automobile companies in Nigeria and abroad as a mechanical engineer.
