WhatsApp has launched an official chat where users can receive the latest information about the app, including updates and tips on how to use it. The chat is marked with a green badge, providing users with a way to verify that the account is legitimate.
WhatsApp launched its official chat, making it available to some random users: it is designed to provide users with the latest news, updates, and tips on how to make the most out of WhatsApp. The advantage of receiving these messages in the official chat is that users can easily stay informed without having to search for the most recent information themselves: users can receive updates directly from WhatsApp, and they can always archive, mute, or block the chat if they do not want to receive notifications.
The first message that WhatsApp sent in the official chat explains how to make messages disappear, linking to an official FAQ. Disappearing messages allow users to send messages that will disappear from both the sender and receiver’s chat after a certain period of time.
This development comes as the company announced a new Windows desktop app feature, an addition that enables the app to load faster. The new app feature, which is built with an interface familiar to WhatsApp, w app will enable group video calls with up to 8 people and audio calls with up to 32 people – all from desktop applications.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of META said, “Launching a new WhatsApp desktop app for Windows. Now you can make E2E encrypted video calls with up to 8 people and audio calls with up to 32 people.”
WhatsApp has also promised future increments to these limits over time. WhatsApp is also increasing support on more devices. The company has just introduced a new WhatsApp beta experience for Android tablets. They will also introduce a new, faster app for Mac desktops that is currently in the early stages of beta.
The company said that this limit can be increased further in the coming times, so that users can stay connected with friends, family and colleagues. WhatsApp noted that the desktop app for Windows will continue to offer end-to-end encryption for messaging, media and calls across multiple devices, including mobile phones, computers and tablets, just like the company’s other apps. This means that all content such as messages, media and calls cannot be accessed by any third person, not even by the app itself.
