Prudential partners Google Cloud to push boundaries of insurance with AI

Prudential plc, a multinational life insurance and financial services company, has partnered with Google Cloud to build innovative AI-powered products and applications to transform the insurance industry and enhance customer experience.
The collaboration centres on the launch of Prudential’s AI Lab, which is set to debut later this year, and will see the development of innovative AI-powered products and applications to drive better insurance, health, and financial growth across Asia and Africa.
This initiative marks a significant step in Prudential’s digital transformation journey, with the AI Lab being the first of its kind in the insurance industry across Asia and Africa.
The initiative is designed to accelerate Prudential’s adoption of machine learning, AI and generative AI (gen AI), while also driving progress towards delivering a better customer experience, driving technology-powered distribution, and Improving access to affordable, quality healthcare

The AI Lab, based in Singapore will also partner with institutes of higher learning, research centres, promising start-ups and AI experts. This launch deepens the working relationship between Prudential and Google Cloud that was established in 2019.
The partnership will enable Prudential’s 15,000 employees to utilise a new sandbox environment within the AI Lab, providing access to cutting-edge AI models, secure generative AI solutions, and comprehensive data analytics tools.
The initiative will facilitate the use of AI to provide improved access to quality healthcare, while supporting agents’ ability to deliver a seamless and personalised customer experience. It will also foster the use of AI to improve operating processes, with the goal of delivering a better experience for customers, agents and employees alike, and driving new, bottom-line efficiencies.
