The Corporate Awards honour Africa’s top business leaders at 10th annual edition

The 10th annual edition of the prestigious Corporate Awards, a Pan-African recognition platform for excellence in business sustainability, CSR, HR policies, and governance, recently made its way to Johannesburg, South Africa for the first time ever.
The event, organised by FabAfriq Media Group, marked a milestone in the corporate world, solidifying its status as the leading platform for recognising and celebrating corporate leadership across the African continent.
Held at the Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel in Johannesburg, the event drew over 200 corporate leaders, dignitaries, and professionals. Among the distinguished attendees were representatives from well-known companies such as MTN South Africa, Vodacom South Africa, LionGuard Cameroon, and IHS Cameroon.
Prudential Beneficial Insurance was the Platinum Partner of the event, taking center stage as primary sponsor.
The Corporate Awards is a Pan-African platform dedicated to celebrating exceptional corporate achievements in HR, CSR, HSE, and Business Sustainability. By fostering healthy competition and showcasing best practices, the programme inspires businesses to adopt innovative, ethical, and sustainable strategies, setting new benchmarks across the continent.
Traditionally, the Corporate Awards has been known for its rigorous selection process based on comprehensive research and competitive evaluation. This year, however, marked a significant shift, with the board and planning committee focusing on recognising companies that have consistently demonstrated bold leadership in sustainability, corporate governance, and innovation.
This approach sought to celebrate not just achievements but also the power of storytelling, showcasing how shared journeys can inspire others to adopt sustainable practices.
10 reputable companies honoured in the Sustainability Awards category include: Maviance PLC (Cameroon) which won the Investment in People Sustainability Award; IHS Cameroon (Cameroon), honoured with the Business Sustainability Pioneer Award; MTN South Africa (South Africa), which won the Business Sustainability & Innovation Award; The Makoya Group (South Africa), honoured with the Business Sustainability & Innovation Award; Prudential Beneficial Insurance (Cameroon), honoured with the Investment in People Sustainability Award.
Other recipients of the Sustainability Awards category are, Vodacom South Africa (South Africa) – Sustainable Innovative Initiative Award;OLAM Agri (Cameroon) – Business Sustainability Award; Woodside Energy (Gabon) – Sustainability Award; Mint South Africa (South Africa) – Investment in People Sustainability Award; and Telkom South Africa (South Africa) – Sustainable Innovation Award.
Three companies emerged recipients of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Awards. They included: COTCO (Cameroon) which won the HSE Excellence Award; LionGuard Trading (South Africa), honoured with the Health and Safety PPE Award/Community Impact Award; and CannAfrica (South Africa), honoured with the Community Impact Award.
The awards ceremony also saw six industry leaders honoured with the Leadership Recognition award.
Thokozile Mahlangu from South Africa, was awarded the Excellence in Leadership Award; Sylvia Milosevic, also from South Africa was given the Emerging Leadership Award; Teresa Nnang from Equatorial Guinea, was a recipient of the Emerging Leader Award.
Marie Sebueng and Nishal Kusial, from South Africa, were both recipients of the Leadership Award; while Marie Rose Daya from Cameroon won the Change Agent Award.
Adeline Sede Kamga, founder of The Corporate Awards described it as more than just a celebration of corporate achievements but a call to action, inspiring organisations to lead with purpose and champion sustainable growth.
