Nigeria has launched Service-Wise GPT, an AI-powered tool designed to enhance the efficiency of public service delivery at the Global Government Summit 2025 in Singapore.

The announcement was made by Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, during her presentation titled “Model Behaviour: How to Govern with AI, Empowering Governance with AI: Nigeria’s National AI Journey and Service-Wise GPT Insight.”

Walson-Jack emphasised the potential of the tool to significantly impact both the national and global economies. She also stressed the importance of ensuring that governance is responsible, ethical, and inclusive to fully capitalise on technological advancements.

“Service-Wise GPT, now in its Beta stage, is a user-centric assistant developed to revolutionise how public services are delivered in Nigeria. It simplifies access to critical information, including Public Service Rules, Statutory Instruments, Regulations, and Guidelines essential for Federal Civil Service operations,” she said.

According to her,  the tool was designed with the end-users’ needs in mind, with the promise of transforming how civil servants interact with important data. Once fully operational, Service-Wise GPT will not only automate policy drafting and the creation of official memos but also offer real-time assistance in policy research.

Walson-Jack highlighted the tool’s potential to save time and reduce the hours civil servants spend on administrative tasks, leading to enhanced productivity, improved compliance, and faster decision-making across ministries.

She shared the findings of a 2025 research study in which users lauded Service-Wise GPT for enabling civil servants to work more efficiently, inclusively, and transparently. According to the study, 73 per cent of respondents reported saving 2 to 3 hours daily, with a 90 per cent recommendation rate for its efficiency and accessibility.

Walson-Jack reiterated that the government is determined to fulfill the Renewed Hope Agenda by ensuring an efficient and technology-driven civil service.
