T2 launches Nigeria’s first eKYC SIM registration web app

Joy Agwunobi

T2, Nigeria’s digital lifestyle brand, has unveiled an electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) SIM Registration Web App, a first-of-its-kind solution designed to redefine the SIM registration process in the country.

The new platform introduces a seamless, secure and fast registration experience for both existing and prospective customers, as well as T2’s retail partners, shops, agents and staff. According to the company, the app is engineered to function efficiently on any smartphone, even in low-connectivity environments, and caters to individual, corporate and foreign customers.

Crucially, the eKYC SIM Registration Web App is fully compliant with Nigeria’s SIM registration regulations, ensuring that every enrolment is secure, accurate and aligned with the standards set by authorities.

“We are excited to introduce this groundbreaking solution to our customers and partners,” said Ayodeji Adedeji, chief technical and information officer at T2, while also noting  “Our new SIM Registration Web App, a flagship innovation following our recent brand unveiling, is designed to revolutionise customer onboarding—making it faster, easier, and more seamless, while ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements.”

The innovation significantly reduces turnaround times for SIM registration, enhances compliance, and strengthens the customer experience across T2’s retail network.

Key features of the eKYC SIM Registration Web App include simple digital onboarding, which allows effortless registration with real-time image capture and ID verification; integrated NIN validation that enables instant authentication with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) database; and comprehensive registration designed to handle individual, corporate, and foreign customer needs seamlessly.

The app also incorporates smart geo-location to ensure registrations are carried out only within approved locations, alongside a customer-friendly workflow that guides users smoothly from photo capture and ID upload to declaration and instant SIM activation.

The launch also reflects T2’s broader brand philosophy built on four pillars: Fast Connectivity, Smart Lifestyle, Creative Energy, and Trust. Together, these values reinforce its ambition to serve as the digital heartbeat of a rising generation, empowering Nigerians to thrive in an increasingly connected world.
