Bolt Business, the corporate mobility unit of ride-hailing company Bolt, has recorded double-digit year-on-year growth in Nigeria over the past 12 months, driven by increased adoption among businesses and growing demand from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The company disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, attributing the growth to increased uptake across several industries and a rising number of organisations seeking alternatives to managing in-house transport fleets.
Bolt said its corporate client base in Nigeria cuts across sectors including financial services, consulting, technology, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, media, real estate and consumer businesses.
According to the company, the increase in adoption is partly linked to businesses seeking to reduce the costs and administrative demands associated with operating and managing transport fleets.
Bolt Business allows organisations to manage employee transportation through a centralised platform, with features including billing, trip reporting, spending controls and visibility into employee journeys.
The company said its services are used for employee commutes, client meetings and business trips.
Isaac Iroko, country manager, Bolt for Business Nigeria, said the growth reflected increasing interest among businesses in managing transportation expenses and operations more efficiently.
“Businesses today are looking beyond transportation, they’re looking for smarter ways to optimise operations and manage costs,” Iroko said.
He added that the company had recorded adoption across different sectors as organisations sought ways to manage employee travel and related expenses.
Bolt said it plans to introduce solutions targeted at sectors with frequent employee mobility requirements, including healthcare, financial services, legal services and logistics.
The development comes as businesses increasingly use digital platforms to coordinate employee transportation, manage travel expenses and monitor corporate mobility, rather than relying solely on traditional transport arrangements.
