Starbase Technologies has unveiled Yolly, a new social entertainment platform aimed at reshaping the creator economy by enabling users to earn rewards for watching, streaming and creating digital content.
The company said the platform was developed to ensure that creators, viewers and brands all benefit from the value generated through online engagement, departing from the traditional social media model where monetisation is largely reserved for creators with large followings.
At the centre of Yolly’s ecosystem is Stars, the platform’s native digital rewards currency, which users accumulate through meaningful participation, including consuming content, live streaming and content creation.
According to the company, Yolly removes the barriers that often prevent emerging creators from earning revenue by allowing them to monetise their content from their very first live stream without requiring minimum follower counts. New creators also have access to features such as gifting, Boosts and the Founder Creator badge to support audience growth from the outset.
The platform also extends earning opportunities to viewers through its “watch+” feature, enabling users to earn Stars simply by watching content from their first session.
For businesses, Yolly offers an alternative advertising model that focuses on verified audience engagement rather than impressions. The platform provides per-minute performance metrics, real-time dashboards and brand safety controls, allowing brands to measure campaign effectiveness more accurately while engaging audiences in what the company described as a trusted digital environment.
Speaking on the launch, Emeka Okenwa, head of business at Yolly, said the platform was built to create a more inclusive creator economy that rewards meaningful participation instead of viral popularity.
He said the platform’s rewards system was intentionally designed to promote wholesome content while creating economic opportunities for everyone contributing to the digital ecosystem.
“The platform has been developed on the premise that the future of the creator economy should be more inclusive, more rewarding, and built around genuine communities rather than algorithms alone,” Okenwa said.
He added that Yolly was founded on the belief that social platforms should encourage family-friendly content while providing a safe environment for viewers, creators and brands to connect, create and grow.
According to Starbase Technologies, the platform offers content across multiple categories, including entertainment, sports, lifestyle, education, technology and live events, as it seeks to attract a broad audience of creators and consumers.
