Lafarge Africa Plc Tuesday announced the appointment of Rossen Papazov as a non-executive member following the resignation of Jean-Carlos Angulo.
According to a statement released by the cement manufacturer, Papazov, who is currently the chief executive officer (CEO) of LafargeHolcim South Africa assumed the role on July 21, 2018.
Papazov joined LafargeHolcim Group in 2000 as a business development manager and prior to that, he worked at the World Bank as a financial management specialist in Sofia, Bulgaria, and as a senior associate at Arthur Andersen.
Papazov holds an MBA from International Institute for Management Development, Lausanne, Switzerland, and he is a fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, Glasgow, UK

The statement also noted the resignation of Angulo took effect on 20 July 2018 after spending six years in the capacity of a non-executive director.
Signed by the company secretary, the statement said the board of Lafarge Africa Plc expressed appreciation for Angulo’s technical expertise and the role he played in the company’s expansion projects.
