Nigerian coys to benefit as Amazon introduces high tech, cloud-based innovative solutions

One of Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos’s multifaceted business arms, Amazon Web Services (AWS), is introducing a series of data-centric and machine learning applications and services, it has emerged.
At a recent masterclass by the company, it said the services include specialised and purpose-built databases, data lake system, and reinforced and deep learning applications.
AWS is known to offer a broad set of global cloud-based products ranging from storage to analytics, networking, IoT, security, management tools and enterprise applications.
According to Manila Standard, AWS stands on a $27 billion run rate and it is available in 60 zones within 20 geographic regions with plans to extend their reach to 12 more availability zones across four more regions in Bahrain, Cape Town, Hong Kong SAR, and Milan.
The Amazon Aurora Global Database is a new MySQL- compatible feature, designed with global footprint, which enables its users to update a database in a single region, which will then be replicated automatically to other AWS region, improving not only easier data availability, but also disaster recovery while an On-Demand feature has been implemented in the Amazon DynamoDB system that reads and writes capacity provisions which render capacity planning obsolete and customers pay only for the requests they consume.
With the AWS Data Lake System, every data-driven organisation will outperform their peers.
Konga and Travelstart are among some of Nigerian companies telling success stories because of the Amazon AWS products they employ.
Jan-André le Roux, systems architect at Travelstart said, “AWS is the only partner to choose if you want real global reach and deployment flexibility. Its worldwide presence was a big reason we chose it over other cloud providers. We knew it could help us grow our operations.”
For Nigerian companies looking out to make fast and reliable decisions from data and looking at ways to expand their businesses, this might be the right time to start looking at tools and systems to help them achieve it.
This system helps organisations to generate actionable insights from their data in a quick and effortless manner. Organisations will consolidate their data and break them down into data silos that lead to better decisions.
The easy to use process is to set up a data lake with few dashboard clicks in a matter of days as opposed to companies that take months from preparing storage, running analytics and setting up security and access policies.
The Amazon SageMaker is the fully managed machine learning service that data scientists and developers utilise to quickly and easily build, train and deploy machine learning models at any scale.
The SageMaker has been launched with two additional platforms, a machine learning model development capabilities called the AWS DeepRacer., this is a 1/18th scale fully autonomous race car which can be supplied with codes that make it fully autonomous and the AWS Marketplace for Machine Learning, where developers can sell their work and use over 150 algorithms and models deployed directly to the Amazon SageMaker.
