The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced the appointment of new general managers (GMs) and assistant general managers (AGMs).

Adams Jatto, the general manager, corporate and strategic communications, made this known in a statement issued in Lagos on Friday.

According to him, this exercise is coming on the heels of an earlier appointment and redeployment of port managers and other senior officials.
Jatto said the appointments are in line with the succession plan policy set up by Hadiza Bala-Usman, the managing director of NPA, to fill leadership gaps that had arisen in the wake of the retirement of some senior officials of the authority.

“The appointment of the new officials would further refresh the composition of the organisation’s leadership structure and inject new ideas that would move the NPA ahead in pursuit of her vision of becoming the leading port authority in Africa”.

The statement indicated that Aisha Ali Ibrahim now becomes the GM marine and operations; Jerome Angyunwe, a captain becomes the GM for health, safety and environment; Isah Suwaid Ali, gets the position for GM superannuation; Musa Yaro becomes GM procurement, and Mohammed Kabiru Kolo, GM audit.”

Other announced appointment include Olumide Omotosho as GM security; Sylvanus Ezugwu – GM finance; Nana Yakubu – GM Public-Private Partnership; Christiana Akpa – GM medicals, and Innocent Gamboro – GM corporate and strategic planning.

“In the Assistant General Managers (AGM) cadre Ayodele Durowaiye becomes AGM operations; Zainab Kwande – AGM servicom; Hassan Danjuma – AGM corporate and strategic communications; Talum Amos – AGM hydrographic; Jamil Khalil – AGM security; Suleiman Anasand an engineer becomes AGM corporate and strategic planning, and Shehu Mohammed – AGM Public and Private Partnership.

“Others of AGM cadre are Chuma Ezeneinyinya – AGM occupational health; Chinwe Nwokolo, a doctor was announced as AGM medical services; Sylvester Owobu, a captain becomes the AGM marine; Izegboya Ethel, was appointed AGM Board; Felix Onyile – AGM human resources; and Sani Isu – AGM land and estate.”
