Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KACCIMA), Nigeria `s oldest private sector driven trade facilitation organisation, has scaled-up preparations for its annual trade exhibition which is expected to attract the biggest participation in the recent times.

This year’s edition of the annual trade event, which is the 40th to be organised by the 97 year old chamber, is slated to start on the 26th of November, and will last until 10th of December.

Details of the trade fair gathered by businessa.m. indicates that the annual trade exhibition with theme “Promoting Agricultural Value Chains for Nigeria`s Sustainable Economic Development” will be holding at the trade fair complex in Kano.

Confirming preparations put in place to ensure a successful hosting of the programme, DalhatuAbubakar, President of the Chamber, said the event is expected to attract exhibitors from within and outside the country.

Abubakar, who was re-elected for another tenure at the annual general meeting (AGM) of the Chamber held recently, said leading private and public enterprises have indicated interest to participate.

According to him, some of the major companies that have expressed readiness to feature in the trade exhibition areDangote Group, BUA Group, W.J Bush & Company Nigeria Limited, Ammasco International Limited, and Flour Mills of Nigeria PLC, among others.

Public enterprises expected at the occasion, range from: Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM), and Bank of Agriculture (BOA), he stated.

Other public institutions also expected at the occasion, are: Bank of Industry, Development Bank of Nigeria, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), and Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

Emerging local big brands, such as:  A.A Rano, Amarshal Agro, Al-Hamsad Golden Rice, Darma Investment, Samuco Export and Import Nigeria Limited, Good Mine Mines Company, Zainab Pot Scourer, Hasyar Farms, Arafat Air Service, and Dala Inland Dry Port, have also indicated interest in the trade fair.

“I can say with all sense of satisfaction that we are fully set for this year’s trade fair, which we intend making a very memorable one, judging by the calibre of participants being expected.

“As you know this is the first major event that the Chamber will be hosting after the successful staging of our AGM, and we plan to make a statement with the event through the smooth arrangement we are putting in place,” Abubakar explained.

Also giving insights into plans already in place for the trade fair, Tijjani A. Abdu, director-general of the Chamber, disclosed that several foreign embassies in the country have also indicated interest.

The DG added that individuals and corporate exhibitors from outside the country, particularly, those from friendly African countries are also expected at the occasion.

“We are happy with the security environment now prevailing in Kano, which has become a reason why all these participants are very excited to be part of the exhibition”, he pointed out.
