grattuity has been called off.
The company in a statement signed by its secretary, Olusegun Oluwole, and made available to Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday said all staff have
resumed and operations are ongoing as normal.
According to Oluwole, “the management is pleased to confirm that the strike action by unionised staff over the ceasation of gratuity has been called off with effect from Wednesday, 28 June 2017. Pursuant to this, all staff have since resumed work and operations are on going as normal”.
Two weeks ago, the staff had protested the new living wage implemented by the company – that stops gratuity payment and adds the money to staff’s monthly salary, so that upon retirement, you get no gratuity.
