OneData lights up Africa Data Centre with access presence at Eko Atlantic

OneData, a leading provider of fast and reliable internet access in Lagos, has strengthened its position by being the first internet service provider (ISP) to light up Africa Data Centre (ADC) with access point presence at the Eko Atlantic City.

The fibre cable internet service provider said its strategic presence will deliver a range of benefits by enabling organisations hosting their applications at ADC to hook up directly to a low-latency carrier collocated within the Eko Atlantic Facility over redundant routes to other data centres and cable landing stations.

“As more organisations continue to collocate at ADC as an interconnect point for major internet service providers, content providers, and organisations offering cloud solutions, OneData guarantees local access to content and applications hosted in other data centres riding on its Point of Presence at the location,” OneData stated in a press release sent to Business A.M.

The fast-growing ISP assured that it can provide such services to its customers as it is also connected to other data centres such as MainOne, Rack Centre, Open Access Data Centre, among others.

Commenting on the deal, Kehinde Alphonso, divisional head for wholesale and enterprise, OneData, said the company is proud to be the first ISP to light up the Africa Data Centre. The company, he said, remains committed to delighting its customers with fast and innovative solutions.

He further explained that the deal between OneData and ADC would serve organisations with customers at ADC who do not have a point of presence there.

According to him, organisations can access their content through OneData’s presence in Africa Data Centre whether for internet or capacity such as a lease line. Such content, he said, can be internet content or they can be cloud.

Alphonso also commended the ADC team for the launch of a massive data centre to cater for the expected growth in traffic as Africa bridges the digital divide.

“The good thing is that a lot of providers are going to Eko Atlantic now and ADC also has a marketplace where it advertises those who collocate in the data centre to the whole world and our details are visibly there for those who will need our services,” he said.
