The peoples of the world in all the continents are treasured living beings who are God’s creations with rights to life and “peaceful coexistence” on planet Earth. This life, in which individuals exercise these rights, no fellow human has any grounds to violently destroy or unlawfully snuff out (unless proven beyond any reasonable doubt by the laws of the land through constituted judicial authorities and properly established legal proceedings). Human beings are specially bred social animals that are intellectually organised in their various cultural groupings and different programmed governance structures; which control diverse kinds of inherent human behavioural tendencies. These are bound to be exhibited as humans cohabit and interact with each other. This societal structured arrangement or policy is done with ordered rules and regulations, established as the laws of the land (the guiding principles). The essence of behavioural checks and control by a selected and legitimately appointed leadership put in place(s) of authority to govern is to remotely police irresponsible and excessively wrong habits that may manifest in some individuals, and socially unacceptable strange conducts exhibited by some human elements.
The governance structure is, therefore, instituted for the sole purpose of instilling discipline (to correct defaulters that disobey the law) through punishing culprits that flagrantly violate those set rules that are not adhered to. This action, however, is taken by way of reprimanding offenders of set out social norms which, hopefully, will ultimately eschew violence, chaos and crime under the established law (if not effectively put under check within the society). The aim and target of this “social order” globally is for “peace” to reign in the society (among the comity of nations, comprising of 193 countries of the United Nations), and between peoples of the world that relate in all walks of life, expected to seamlessly interact without ‘pronounced conflict’ as they go about their several businesses in their respective vocations. This essential social/public service and human task, globally, is specifically handled in the United Nations charter for global peace (known for “international peace and security”, as contained under Chapter VII of the UN Charter).
The ongoing Ukrainian/Russian war appears to be taking a new disturbing and worrisome dimension, by mere mention of possible nuclear torpedo test (with President Vladimir Putin of Russia seeming to fan the ember of World-war III by lately uttering usage of nuclear weapon) at such a sensitive point in global tensions. The UN must resist this at all costs because the entire globe shall be dragged into a conflict that has presently gotten out of hand because of the decision of one person (out of a population of about eight billion persons on earth). Peaceful resolutions of whatever dispute should still be further explored, aggressively pursued diplomatically and exhausted, to bring the war to an end by settlement. This would be a feasible strategic, crisis-preventive option, than this man’s lethal thoughts of destroying the whole earth, to disturb an age-long, diplomatically managed world order with nuclear weapons, the first time since the end of World War 2 when the United Nations was established in 1945.

The UN peacekeeping operations may apply force at the tactical level for defence of the mandate and/or self defence by coalitions of member states or the authorised peace operations, if need be for such approval by the Security Council (to maintain/restore international peace and security). Recounting that the United Nations peacekeepers’ primary responsibilities include (among many others), protecting civilians all over the world, reduction of violence by proactively preventing conflicts, while strengthening national and international security with empowered authorities for good governance, to favour the entire citizenry. Peace is the principal thing in human relations, globally. Citizens (especially civilians are bound to be protected, no matter the degree of provocation amongst warring nations).
The environmental challenges of global warming (the Climate Change impact of carbon emissions from fossil fuels utilised for many decades in the past) and its attendant global food insecurity that is linked to the aftermath of extreme weather conditions and natural disasters (flooding, drought and fire); are presently enough global headache for everyone on the planet to bear, than this single creature’s “no-peace posture” for the entire world (no matter the height of provocation by whomever). Instead of discussing the ongoing FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar with leisure, people are concerned with disturbances and rumours of global war by an individual’s stubborn decision to nuke the earth. He didn’t create himself, and has no right whatsoever to keep sending thousands of souls to their early graves; especially with yet another dimension to drag everyone living in all parts of the earth into his personal/country’s dispute with a neighbouring country, instead of allowing mediators to wade in and broker peace, to prevent this bizarre damage meted on Ukraine by the Russian military since it started the merciless invasion on 24th February 2022. Putin needs to be spoken sense into, for him to see reasons he should refrain from taking senseless actions against humanity and the entire world.
