Transcorp Hotels appoints Obi Osakwe as non-executive director

Transcorp Hotels Plc,  the hospitality subsidiary of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc, has announced the appointment of Obi Osakwe as the non-executive director of the company  with effect from February 17,2023.

The company made this known in a statement signed by Funmi Olofintuyi, the company secretary, published on the Nigerian Exchange(NGX) website.

According to the statement, Osakwe’s appointment followed the exit of Alexander Adeyemi as the non-executive director, from the board of directors of Transcorp Hotels Plc.

The statement described  Obi Osakwe as an experienced chartered Accountant, finance director, and strong finance professional with a demonstrated history in the management consulting industry.

Transcorp Hotels appoints Obi Osakwe as non-executive director

Obi Osakwe has over thirty years of private and public sector professional experience covering management consultancy, oversight of financial management operations, with the federal ministry of finance, the federal ministry of health Nigeria, before he joined the office of the accountant-general of the federation (Treasury House),Abuja.

 He  is an accountant by profession, holds a Bachelor of Sciences (BSc)  degree in accountancy from Anambra State University of Technology (ASUTECH), Anambra and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in finance from the University of Nigeria (Enugu).

Osakwe has also  worked with donor organisations such as the World Bank  International Development Association (IDA), African Development Bank (AfDB), Global Fund and the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI).
