Tinubu appoints new board, management for NDDC

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new board and management team to take up the reins of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and implement significant changes in the commission’s organisational structure.

Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, made the disclosure in an official communication,stating that the appointment takes imeediate effect.

The new development sees Chiedu Ebie designated as the board’s chairman, a pivotal role within the commission.

Samuel Ogbuku  was appointed the managing director and chief executive officer (CEO). Boma Iyaye occupies the position of executive director of finance and administration.

Others appointments include  Victor Antai as executive director of Projects; Ifedayo Abegunde  as executive director, corporate Services; Dimaro Denyanbofa as  state representative,Bayelsa; Abasi Nkono  as tate representative,Akwa Ibom; Monday Igbuya as  state representative ,Delta; and Tony Okocha, state representative,Rivers.

Also, Patrick Aisowieren was appointed as state representative,Edo; Kyrian Uchegbu as state representative,Imo;Victor Kolade Akinjo, as state representative ,Ondo;Dimgba Eruba as state representative,Abia; and Asu Oku Okang as state representative ,Cross River.

The three zonal members of the board  include Nick Wende,zonal representative for North Central; Namdas Abdulrazak,zonal representative for North East; and Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir,zonal representative for North West.

President Tinubu stated that he expects  the new board and management team to implement a new era of successful administration in the NDDC, in line with his administration’s “Renewed Hope agenda.”

The Niger Delta Development Commission is a federal government agency established by former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo, in 2020 with a major objective of developing the oil-rich Niger Delta region which comprises Cross River, Edo, Delta, Abia, Imo, Bayelsa, River, Akwa-Ibom and Ondo States
