Climate Action Africa takes the lead on sustainability with CAAF24

Climate Action Africa (CAA) has announced the launch of the Climate Action Africa Forum (CAAF24), a new international platform that will convene thought leaders from around the world to share insights on how to encourage collaboration, catalyse solutions, and encourage governments, businesses, and individuals to invest in climate-friendly initiatives.
The announcement for the upcoming event was made during a press conference held on Friday, March 24, at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja. The press conference featured a diverse group of speakers and stakeholders from all over the world, with the goal of discussing Africa’s sustainable development challenges and the need for climate-smart investments.
The event, held under the theme of “Green Economies, Brighter Futures: Innovating and Investing in Africa’s Climate-Smart Development,” brought together leading figures from all over the world to discuss innovative and sustainable solutions for Africa’s environmental challenges.
Grace Mbah, executive director and co-founder of the climate action platform presented the opening address, calling for technology-driven solutions and innovations in areas such as emissions reduction, transportation, agriculture, energy, circularity, and building and construction to apply to participate in the deal room, a platform for entrepreneurs and investors to connect and collaborate.
Mbah stressed the importance of innovation and collaboration in tackling Africa’s sustainability challenges, and highlighted the opportunities available for organizations to get involved through hosting side events and volunteering.
“It’s no news that the world stands at a critical juncture, where decisive action is imperative to mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change. Against this backdrop, CAAF24 serves as a pivotal platform for key stakeholders to engage in meaningful discourse, and forge collaborative pathways towards a greener, more sustainable future.
The essence of CAAF lies in its commitment to shaping a climate-resilient Africa through co-creation, innovation, and sustainable investment. Through this initiative, we aim to catalyse solutions that enhance the sustainability and prosperity of the continent’s natural resources, people, and economies,” she stated.
The international press conference featured a range of distinguished speakers and thought leaders, who collectively emphasized the need for collective action in addressing Africa’s climate crisis. The experts delved into a variety of critical topics, such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and climate finance. They shared practical insights and examples of inspiring initiatives taking place across the continent.
Jummai Vandu, a representative from the National Council on Climate Change, expressed her optimism about the outcomes of CAAF24, noting that the discussions highlighted the urgency of collective action in addressing climate change.
Taiwo Fashipe, head of media for the Presidential CNG Initiative (P-CNGi), echoed similar sentiments, stating: “The theme of this year’s Climate Action Africa Forum aligns with our goals, vision, and mission at the Presidential CNG Initiative. We look forward to using this platform to advance interest in and investment in greener and cleaner energy sources like CNG.”
