The management of APL Electric Company Limited, the distribution arm of Geometric Power Ltd, an independent electricity generating company based in
Aba, Abia State, has expressed worries over the poor response of customers in bill settlement amounting to N4.2 billion.
This is in response to reports of poor power supply and estimated billing as alleged by consumers in Aba. They called for the installation of prepaid metres and lamented that the incidence of estimated bills and being charged for what they did not consume are affecting their daily living and businesses.

Barth Nnaji, chairman of the Aba Power Ltd (APL), during a town-hall meeting between APL and Landlords Protection and Development Association (ALPADA),stated that APL is owed 4.2 billion by consumers barely six months after it took over electricity distribution in Aba,
This, he explained, has made operations very challenging for the company which is aimed at bringing hope for reliable power supply to the town.
Nnaji also attributed the poor power supply in the city to the vandalism of power equipment, metre bypassing and assault against Aba power staff carrying out their legitimate duties in the city.
