Access Bank has announced a partnership with Visa, the world’s leader in digital payments, to enhance the efficiency of cross-border business-to-business payments for the bank’s corporate, commercial, and SME customers.

Through this partnership, Access Bank will use Visa’s B2B Connect platform to send and receive payments to and from 110 countries around the world, improving speed and transparency in cross-border transactions.

Access Bank’s partnership with Visa will allow its business customers to send money faster, efficiently, and securely from Nigeria to multiple markets across the globe through Visa B2B Connect. The partnership demonstrates Access Bank’s dedication to digital innovation and providing the best possible services to its SME and large corporate customers.

The partnership will improve customer experience and foster commerce across multiple trading corridors by providing businesses with cost-effective, efficient, reliable, and secure cross-border payment services. By leveraging Visa B2B Connect, Access Bank will be able to offer its customers a better payment experience that will enable them to operate more efficiently and grow their businesses.

Commenting on the development, Victor Etuokwu, deputy managing director of Access Bank, said the partnership with Visa reinforces the bank’s commitment to be the leading financial institution in Nigeria, offering innovative financial services built on trust and driven by a passion for excellence.

Etuokwu expressed confidence that the collaboration will bring innovation to the forefront, enabling customers to access the latest payment technology to meet their evolving needs.

He added that Access Bank’s participation in the Visa B2B Connect platform will improve service delivery, boost technology modernization, and strengthen the bank’s partnerships with businesses in Nigeria.

Vishal Virmani, head of Visa B2B Connect, CEMEA, stated, “We are pleased to welcome Access Bank to Visa B2B Connect, which will introduce the platform to Nigeria and the West African region.

According to Virmani, the solution enables digital innovation and improves efficiency for financial institutions and their corporate clients, positively impacting the payments ecosystem.

Andrew Uaboi, general manager of Nigeria and the West Africa cluster for Visa, commented that while technology has helped bring people closer together, it has not been as effective at solving the challenges faced by small businesses and corporate clients when moving money around the world.

“As Access Bank joins the Visa B2B Connect network in Nigeria, The bank’s collaboration with Visa will help businesses in the country to send and receive international payments quickly and securely,” Uaboi noted.
