On the sidelines of the gathering of global financial experts and the world’s leading central bankers at the 2025 Spring meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund this April, a showcase of Africa’s culture, food and diplomacy is going on display in Washington, D.C. in the United States, as leading Africa gastrodiplomacy champion, Afroflavour, brings together a global audience for its “A Taste of Africa” event.
The event is scheduled specifically to be held on April 23, 2025, as an exclusive cocktail reception that promises to bring together distinguished leaders, culinary masters, and culture enthusiasts to celebrate Africa’s influence on the global culinary stage.

African Cuisine, which will allow guests a savouring of the rich flavours of African cuisines, carefully crafted by renowned chefs; cultural immersion, where guests will immerse themselves in rich African music, art, and heritage; networking opportunities, allowing various opportunities to connect with diplomats, business leaders, cultural curators, and fellow enthusiasts.
Other highlights are a Celebration of Africa’s Excellence, which will see guests, partners, and participants join the organisers in the celebration of Africa’s contributions to global culture, economy, and diplomacy.
