Air Peace third Embraer 190 delivery on time for festive air travel rush

The delivery of a third Embraer 190 aircraft to Nigerian airline, Air Peace, has come in right on time for the festive demand that the domestic aviation market is currently witnessing, industry analysts have said.

This addition is part of a strategic fleet expansion programme embarked upon by the carrier operating in what has been described as Nigeria’s dynamic aviation landscape. Air Peace is West and Central Africa’s largest airline by fleet size and has been pushing a reinforcement of its operational capacity to meet the heightened travel demand of the festive season and beyond.

The state-of-the-art Embraer 190-100 AR (Advanced Range) jet, with registration mark 5N-CFM, touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday, marking another significant milestone in the airline’s deliberate and fast-paced fleet modernization drive.

Configured as a 99-seater aircraft, the Embraer 190 features 11 Business Class seats and 88 Economy Class seats, offering passengers a refined balance of comfort, efficiency, and reliability. The arrival of the Embraer 190 AR represents the third aircraft of this fleet type received within just five months, underscoring Air Peace’s ambition, operational capacity and readiness to expand flight availability during Nigeria’s peak travel period.

Designed with sustainability and performance in mind, the Embraer 190 AR boasts fuel-efficient engines with reduced carbon emissions, making it one of the more environmentally responsible aircraft in its class. Inside the cabin, passengers are treated to thoughtful comfort features, including a 1-2 seating configuration in Business Class, delivering an ambient, private feel, and a 2-2 Economy Class layout, eliminating middle seats while ensuring spacious legroom, quiet cabin comfort, and in-seat power sockets to support productivity and convenience throughout the journey.

Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the airline spokesperson described the aircraft’s arrival as both timely and strategic.

“We are delighted to welcome this advanced aircraft into our ever-expanding fleet. The Embraer 190 AR is a modern, efficient, and passenger-friendly aircraft that aligns perfectly with our operational goals. Our focus remains clear, easing the burden of air travel across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond, while offering seamless connectivity and bespoke services that meet the expectations of today’s traveller,” Efe stated.

He further noted that the new addition will play a critical role in supporting additional flight frequencies across key domestic and regional routes during the festive season, ensuring improved schedule reliability, enhanced connectivity, and reduced pressure on high-traffic corridors.

For the travelling public, the arrival translates to more seat availability, increased flexibility, and improved travel experience, particularly at a time when family reunions, business travel, and tourism activities peak nationwide. It also reflects Air Peace’s broader commitment to deploying right-sized aircraft that efficiently serve both high-density and underserved routes without compromising service quality.

With a steadily expanding and diverse fleet, Air Peace continues to distinguish itself as Nigeria’s most aggressively growing airline, setting industry benchmarks in capacity growth, fleet investment, and route development.

The third Embraer 190 stands as yet another testament to the airline’s vision to connect communities, strengthen regional integration, and redefine air travel across the continent.

As the festive season unfolds, Air Peace said it remains poised to deliver seamless travel experiences powered by modern aircraft, strategic planning, and an unwavering commitment to passenger satisfaction.
