Bourse closes negative as investors  lose N36bn

Trading activities on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) platform closed negative on Tuesday, as market capitalisation declined by N36 billion to close at N30.355 trillion.

The All-Share Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.12 per cent to close at 55,722.9 points.

However, market breadth closed negative as ENAMELWA led nine gainers against 17 equities that lost their share prices topped CHAMS.

ENAMELWA topped the gainers chart as it gained 9.57 per cent to close at N17.75; FTNCOCOA was up 7.69 per cent to close at 0.28; STERLNBANK appreciated 3.42 per cent to close at N1.51; UACN increased by 3.26 per cent to close at N9.50; while NGXGROUP gained 2.69 per cent to close at N26.70.

On the contrary, CHAMS led the gainers chart as it shed 8.00 per cent to close at N0.23; PRESTIGE lost 7.32 per cent to close at  N0.38; LINKASSURE was down 6.82 per cent to close at N0.41; UPDC lost 6.80 per cent to close at N0.96; while WEMABANK declined by 6.05 per cent to close at N4.04.

At the end of the trading activities on Tuesday, the Year-To-Date (YTD) settled at 7.99 per cent, while the stock market advanced by 4,127.24 basis points.
