CFO, CCO to leave Nigerian insurer, SUNU Assurance Plc, in September

Two top executives, namely, Akeem Adamson, the chief finance officer and John Akujieze, the company secretary, who also doubles as head, legal and chief compliance officer, of insurance underwriter, SUNU Assurance Plc, have handed in notices to resign their appointments with the company, two separate corporate regulatory disclosures signed by Samuel Ogbodu, its managing director and chief executive, filed to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) and seen by businessamlive.com show.
According to the disclosures, the resignations of the two senior executives will become effective from 7th September 2021 and both Adamson and Akujieze, will be replaced by Theo Iyile and Taiwo Kuku as CFO and company secretary, respectively, in acting capacity pending the board’s final decisions.
The statements read in part, “This is to notify NGX Regulation Limited, our esteemed shareholders and the general public of the resignation of the chief financial officer and company secretary, head, legal and chief compliance officer; Akeem Adamson and John Akujieze from the services of SUNU Assurances Nigeria Plc (the company)effective 7th September 2021.
“Their resignations were presented and had been accepted by the board of directors. The board and management of the company wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”
