The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) has underscored the value of family and togetherness in the insurance community with the hosting of a Family Picnic at Eleko Beach and Resort, Lagos.
The event, which brought together insurance professionals, and representatives of insurance firms, served as a celebration of unity, camaraderie, and the collective strength of the industry. It also offered a welcome break from the rigours of work, providing a relaxed environment for networking and bonding.

Speaking at the gathering, Yetunde Ilori, president/chairman of CIIN, described the outing as both timely and significant in promoting work-life balance for members of the industry.
“This is my first Family Picnic as the 52nd President/Chairman of Council, and I am delighted to be sharing this experience with all insurance companies present. Events like this remind us of the need to prioritise balance and togetherness,” she said.
The president was accompanied by a distinguished entourage, including past president Edwin Igbiti, deputy president Akinjide Orimolade, CIIN treasurer Adetutu Aruisika, council members Adeniran Aderinoye and Patience Ugboajah, registrar/CEO Abimbola Tiamiyu, president of PILA Bimbo Onakomaya, and rector of the College of Insurance and Financial Management Chizoba Eheogu, among other dignitaries.
The picnic featured a wide range of family-friendly activities, including a children’s play area, face painting, beach games, horse riding, and a photo booth. These attractions added vibrancy to the occasion, keeping both adults and children engaged throughout the day.
Participants praised the institute for creating the platform, noting that it fostered stronger bonds not only within families but also across the broader insurance community.
The CIIN reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to nurturing unity, balance, and shared experiences within Nigeria’s insurance sector.
