Dangote Petroleum Refinery has slashed the price of its petrol to N899.50 per litre, aimed at easing transport costs during the festive period.
Anthony Chiejina, group chief, branding and communications officer of the Dangote Group, made the announcement in a statement on Thursday, explaining that the move is expected to provide much-needed relief for Nigerians ahead of the holiday season.
The privately-owned refinery, which made history as the first of its kind in Africa, had previously reduced its petrol prices to N970 on November 24. However, the new price adjustment of N899.50 is considerd part of efforts to ease transportation costs during the Yuletide period when transportation flow is at its peak.
In addition to the price reduction, the refinery also introduced a special offer for consumers. It announced that for every litre of petrol purchased with cash, customers will be allowed to buy an additional litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or Single Point Mooring (SPM) facility,” the company stated.
Dangote refinery further reiterated its commitment to providing Nigerians with high-quality petroleum products at competitive prices, ensuring they are environmentally and engine-friendly.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has declared that its operations have effectively ended the country’s history as a dumping ground for substandard and blended imported fuel products.
These poor-quality imports, it noted, have historically posed significant threats to human health, machinery, and the environment, and have now been replaced by the locally-refined, high-quality fuel it currently produces.
