Eastern Distilleries launches ‘Whisky Elegamon’ into local market

Eastern Distilleries and Food Industries Limited,  a manufacturer of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, has launched its newest premium spirit brand, “Whisky Elegamon’, into the local market.

‘Whisky Elegamon’, one of the flagship products of the drinks maker, and at the moment, the latest entrant into the company’s premium brands,  joins other brands of the company in the ever growing presence of EDFI in the spirit beverage industry where quality and consistency are of topmost considerations.

Eastern Distilleries launches ‘Whisky Elegamon’ into local market
According to Stanley Egbunugha, master blender, of the company,  “Whisky Elegamon” was conceived for connoisseurs who have a penchant for something exclusive.

He maintained that the conceptualization of the brand, was premised on the fact that most of the so-called imported brands are adulterated, hence the need for the company to venture into what would ordinarily be impossible to achieve in Nigeria.

“The Nigerian premium-spirit market is ample with numerous products whose brand promises cannot be substantiated, owing to the fact that some of these products are imported, leading to many of them being adulterated.

“To bridge that gap, Eastern Distilleries and Food Industries took out a whole decade to create what today is known as Whisky Elegamon. The product was designed to bring you luxury, infused into the product’s unique flavour, and exotic feel that leaves you with that feeling of pride and an unending yearning for more of the product’s mouthwatering offerings,” Egbunugha said.

On the uniqueness of the product, Egbunugha maintained that Whisky Elegamon passed through a unique distillation and blending process.

“Whisky Elegamon is a product that comes with a lot of experience leveraged on our understanding of grains, and distillation processes. The product passed through double distillation.

“Conventionally, the majority of whisky manufacturers start with Scottish Oak, but we started with the sherry cask and that’s why the sum total of what you have in Whisky Elegamon is a product that has unique notes, because of the sherry cask.

“And what that implies is that you have a premium product that passed through a state of art filtration process that isolates and removes fatty acid or volatile chemicals that could block the receptors in your taste buds and make you nauseous.

“So what you have is a whisky that is smooth with an oaky flavour that is mild and will not give you a nauseous hangover.

“Whisky Elegamon sits resplendent in an awe-inspiring 12-micron, metallic laminate packet that defines its moniker, translated to mean elegance. The bottle dons a non-refillable valve closure that secures the content from adulteration and finishes off with a uniquely shaped bottle and a complementary black-hue label,” he said.

The product comes in a 75cl bottle with six bottles in a carton.
