Emeka Anyaoku-led Patriots tap Professor Kila to lead constitution committee

The Patriots, a prominent group of eminent Nigerians led by Emeke Anyaoku recently inaugurated the Advocacy Committee for the Actualisation of the Peoples Constitution to be chaired by Anthony Kila, a renowned political economist and professor of Strategy and Development.
The committee, comprising 17 members, highlighted its mission to embark on a nationwide engagement campaign to seek the input and support of major stakeholders and the general public in its quest to drive the actualisation of a people-driven constitution in Nigeria.
In inaugurating the committee, Emeka Anyaoku, former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations and leader of the Patriots, emphasised the committee’s forthcoming engagements with diverse sectors of the country, starting with the members of the National Assembly.
The inauguration event which was held physically in Lagos and online, was attended by leaders of the Patriots including Ike Nwachukwu, Obong Victor Attah, Anya O. Anya, Bilikisu Magaro, Remi Sonaiya, Solomon Asemota, Tokunbo Awolowo Dosumu and Ben Obi.
Upon accepting the position as chairman of the advocacy committee, Kila conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to Emeka Anyaoku and the leaders of the Patriots for entrusting him and his fellow committee members with the vital responsibility.
Committing to a transparent and participatory approach, the chairman of the advocacy committee, announced that his team will engage in comprehensive outreach to the general public. With this in mind, Kila revealed that the committee will be actively interacting with members of the National Assembly, traditional leaders, students, and corporate Nigeria.
