“We are truly honoured to receive the prestigious ‘Four-Star Global Airline’ title once again. This award underscores Ethiopian Airlines’ determination to uphold the highest levels of service. We are thrilled to have our efforts recognised once more, motivating us to strive for even greater achievements,” said Mesfin Tasew, chief executive officer, Ethiopian Airlines Group.
The APEX Five Star and Four-Star Airline Awards are the only global awards based entirely on impartial, third-party passenger feedback and insights collected through APEX’s partnership with TripIt from Concur®, the world’s most widely used travel-organising app.
For the 2025 awards, over one million Passenger Name Record (PNR) verified flights were rated by passengers across more than 600 airlines globally, utilising a five-star scale. Moreover, the APEX Five Star and Four-Star Airline Awards are independently verified by a professional external auditing company.
In 2025, the evaluation criteria have been refined, allowing APEX Five Star to be awarded exclusively to the Top 40 airlines worldwide, a privilege that encompasses less than seven percent of rated airlines. Similarly, APEX Four Star has been streamlined to include the next 50 airlines globally, indicating that only eight percent of airlines worldwide meet these stringent criteria.
This marks a significant achievement for Ethiopian Airlines, placing it in the highest echelon of the aviation industry.
