FirstBank, a leading financial institution in West Africa, has announced the 2025 edition of its annual Agric & Export Conference. Scheduled for Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos. The event will focus on the theme: “The Fundamentals of Building a Non-Oil Export Driven Economy.”
The conference is a continuation of the bank’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s agricultural and non-oil export sectors, which are seen as critical drivers of economic development and diversification. The event is designed to keep participants abreast of emerging trends and provide insights into how innovative solutions can contribute to the nation’s overall economic growth.
The conference will be held in a hybrid format, allowing for virtual participation alongside in-person attendance for key stakeholders. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit exhibition booths featuring major industry organizations and associations.
The event will feature a keynote address by Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of agriculture & food security,. The plenary and technical sessions will be led by a host of industry leaders and subject matter specialists, including Jafar Abubakar Umar, the managing director of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA); Abba Bello, the MD/CEO of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM); and Nonye Ayeni, the CEO of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC),among others.
These speakers will contribute their expertise throughout the various sessions, providing participants with valuable knowledge to enhance their roles within the agricultural and export value chain.
According to Olusegun Alebiosu, managing director of FirstBank Group, the conference is a strategic platform for stakeholders to converge, share knowledge, and drive strategies that can unlock the full potential of Nigeria’s agricultural sector and non-oil export industry.
