The Hope Hossana Foundation, a non-governmental organization, in collaboration with DG-Integrated Solar Energy Services, is set to empower 10,000 youths across the six area councils of Abuja Municipal in solar and close circuit television (CCTV) camera installation and maintenance.
Chibuike Onyejietu, managing director of DGIS, disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja during the unveiling of the training project tagged “Light Up Abuja”.
Onyejietu revealed that the six-month training has the support of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) administration, and also noted that 12 centres where the training will take place have been made available.
“Considering the poor supply of power in the country and increased rate of unemployment among our youths, Hope Hossana Foundation, in collaboration with DGIS, is set to train 10,000 youths on solar energy, and CCTV camera installation and maintenance,” he said.
Mary Nwachukwu, a representative of Hope Hossana Foundation, said that the organization has the objective of equipping the youths with the right knowledge so that they will do well by the end of the six months of training.
