inDrive, a global ride-hailing platform operating across nine African countries, has launched a targeted driver appreciation initiative in Abuja to mark the Ramadan season, rewarding active Muslim drivers with curated food hampers and personalised thank-you cards.
Tagged the “Ramadan Shukran campaign,” the initiative is aimed at strengthening the company’s relationship with its driver community at a time when many are balancing long working hours with daily fasting during the holy month.
Unlike traditional incentive programmes tied to earnings or performance metrics, the campaign focuses on practical support and symbolic recognition of drivers’ contributions to the platform’s day-to-day operations.
As part of the programme, four Abuja-based Muslim content creators have been engaged to distribute 200 Ramadan hampers across key districts in the city. The hampers contain staple foods and beverages commonly consumed during the fasting period to support both suhoor (pre-dawn meal) and iftar (meal to break the fast).
Packaged in warm-toned Ramadan-themed boxes, each hamper also includes a handwritten-style card from inDrive bearing the message “Shukran,” the Arabic word for “thank you.”
To ensure broad coverage and local relevance, each creator has been assigned a specific delivery zone across the capital city. Deliveries are scheduled around prayer times and fasting routines, with participating drivers’ consent obtained for campaign documentation.
Beyond the distribution exercise, the company said the campaign also serves an expanded brand positioning objective by highlighting drivers’ stories through creator-led content while expanding awareness of the platform among drivers not currently signed up.
The initiative highlights inDrive’s strategy of deepening engagement with its driver ecosystem through culturally relevant initiatives during significant moments in the Muslim calendar.
The company also extended seasonal goodwill to its driver community, wishing them Ramadan Kareem.
