JMG, the exclusive FG Wilson dealer in Nigeria, has successfully delivered and commissioned a turnkey backup power solution at Citi Bank’s head office in Lagos. seamlessly enhancing the bank’s energy resilience with zero operational disruption.

The robust turnkey solution features three FG Wilson P850 diesel generator sets, powered by reliable Perkins engines, delivering a combined 2,550 kVA of prime power. From planning to commissioning, the project was executed without interrupting Citibank’s day-to-day operations—demonstrating JMG’s expertise in powering mission-critical infrastructure.

The projects include a robust infrastructure with reinforced concrete foundations and acoustic enclosures to minimise vibration and noise, and fully automated switching with high-speed automatic transfer switches for instantaneous changeover between utility and generator power.

It also comprises 24-hour remote monitoring with real-time system diagnostics and alerts, ensuring rapid response to any anomalies; an efficiency gain; and an early performance data show, up to a 30 percent reduction in generator run hours, translating to lower fuel consumption and maintenance expenses.

Speaking on the success of the project, Kolawole Olatunji, area sales manager, JMG Power Generation Division, said:

“This full-capacity rollout underscores JMG’s commitment to delivering smart, reliable, and future-ready power solutions to Nigeria’s financial sector. With this upgrade, Citibank now operates with full confidence under any grid condition -without a single second of service interruption.”

Tayo Shorun, facility manager at Citibank, echoed this sentiment: “Thanks to JMG, our new 2,550 kVA backup solution has taken operational reliability to a whole new level. Our systems haven’t experienced a single power interruption since installation.”
