LAIF Creative Conference returns for landmark 20th edition

The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) has announced that the 2025 LAIF Creative Conference will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Lagos Marriott Hotel, GRA Ikeja. The event, scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., marks the 20th anniversary of the Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF), one of West Africa’s most influential creative showcases..

This year’s edition, themed “20 Years of Crazy,” is positioned not only as a celebration of two decades of creative excellence but also as a forward-looking platform examining the  innovations of advertising, technology, and cultural influence. Industry leaders from across Nigeria, Africa, and international markets are expected to converge for a full day of conversations shaping the next phase of brand-building and creative innovation.

According to AAAN, the conference will feature keynote presentations, expert panel sessions, and side-stage discussions that cut across the future of creativity, strategic communication, and the evolving role of technology in the creative process. The conversations will also highlight how advertising increasingly intersects with entertainment, storytelling, and global pop culture.

Some of the central themes for this year include the future of African creativity, authentic and culturally rooted storytelling, creativity at the nexus of advertising and film, the impact of AI on creative production, the rise of the new African consumer, and unlocking global opportunities for African brands.

The 20th anniversary celebration will culminate in the LAIF Awards Ceremony, slated for Sunday, November 30, 2025. The awards, widely regarded as the industry’s most respected benchmark for creative excellence, will honour outstanding campaigns and innovations across advertising and marketing communications. Agencies, directors, writers, designers, strategists, and brand teams whose work has set industry standards over the past year will be recognised.

In addition, this landmark edition will feature the LAIF Icon Award, which will pay tribute to a distinguished industry pioneer whose work and leadership have shaped the trajectory of Nigerian advertising.

Speaking ahead of the festival, Jay Chukwuemeka, chairman of the LAIF management board, underscored the importance of the 2025 edition.
“LAIF has evolved into one of the most influential creative festivals in West Africa. As we celebrate 20 years, we are not only honouring our past but embracing a future defined by innovation, collaboration and global relevance,” he said.

Attendance at the LAIF Creative Conference is free, and participants can register via the official link: https://bit.ly/LAIF20.
