NCAA holds consumer protection, management workshop tomorrow

A workshop on consumer protection and management to x-ray ways to serve air travellers better and improve between passengers and airlines is being organised tomorrow by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) under the leadership of Chris Najomo.

The workshop is themed, “Achieving Increased Adoption of Digital Technology in Air Travel Customer Complaint Management: The Regulatory Perspective.”

The purpose of the workshop is to create a stronger interface between airline operators, aviation agencies and air travellers to enhance improved and effective communication between airlines and travellers.

It is part of a series of stakeholder engagement and public awareness programme aimed at setting the roadmap for achieving a more efficient civil aviation and air transportation system in the country, through an inclusive dialogue by critical stakeholders and major actors in the Nigerian civil aviation air transportation value chain.

Seasoned aviators billed to speak at the workshop include George Uriesi, executive director and chief operating officer of the popular Ibom Air; First Baba Isa, thought leader, lawyer and scholar; and Ifueko Abdulmalik, senior special assistant to the NCAA DG.

George Uriesi was also the managing director and CEO, Trade Flair LLC, former managing director and CEO, FAAN, former general manager, Cape Town International Airport, Airports Company of South Africa and a certified business coach

The panellists at the conference will include Francis Ekeng, director of airport operations, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN); Yinka Folami, president, National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), George Uriesi, Ifueko Abdulmalik, and Ayo Mairo-Ese, Arise News anchor, compere, moderator and public speaker.

The workshop will be held from 9.00 am at NCAA Annexe, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The resource persons will speak on public awareness/ travellers enlightenment and repositioning the Nigerian aviation industry for operational efficiency, service excellence and economic viability: A renewed and inclusive regulatory dialogue”
