Nestlé Nigeria, one of the largest food and beverage (F&B) companies in the country, has been recognized for its performance across various business metrics, including people practices, sustainability, diversity, and inclusion.

At the Employers Excellence Awards, organised by the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA), Nestlé Nigeria was awarded for its outstanding performance in several key areas. The company was recognized as the best employer in the food and beverage sector, highlighting its efforts to create a positive and productive work environment for its employees. Nestlé was also commended for its investment in sustainability and green initiatives, as well as its exemplary investment in diversity and inclusion. Additionally, the company was acknowledged for its efforts towards the elimination of child labor in the workplace.

The annual Employers Excellence Awards recognises organisations that prioritise their workforce, implementing policies, systems, and processes that drive enterprise competitiveness, enhance productivity, and foster industrial peace and harmony. The 2023 edition themed “Against All Odds”,  acknowledged the challenges businesses are facing in Nigeria. Nestlé’s recognition at the awards ceremony highlights the company’s ability to overcome these challenges and achieve success in the face of adversity.

The recognition at the Annual Employers Excellence Awards is the latest in a series of accolades for Nestlé Nigeria. The company has also been recognized by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) as an example of best practice in human resource management. In addition, Nestlé has been acknowledged by the NECA-ITF Technical Skill Development Project and the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) for its excellence in job placement and training activities.

In a statement, Wassim Elhusseini, managing director and chief executive officer of Nestlé Nigeria, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to continuous excellence. Elhusseini stated that Nestlé remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards of corporate excellence and taking steps every day to promote the well-being of its people, while supporting thriving communities and protecting the planet for future generations.

“We are very happy to receive these keenly contested awards and will remain focused on maintaining our positive impact in the Nigerian business environment, against all odds,”the CEO added.
