The Nigerian Center will be showcasing the rich culture and traditions of Nigeria as part of Passport D.C.’s annual Around the World Embassy Tour. Taking place on Saturday, May 4th at the University of the District of Columbia’s Student Center, the event will see over 50 embassies and cultural organisations participating, with The Nigerian Center being one of them.

The Nigerian Center’s booth will be located at 4200 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington DC 20008, offering attendees the opportunity to experience Nigerian cuisine, art, and history up close.

In addition, the Nigerian Center, in partnership with AfroFlavour LLC, is planning an exciting showcase of Nigerian culture at the upcoming Passport D.C.’s Around the World Embassy Tour. Visitors to the center’s booth will have the opportunity to experience traditional Nigerian art, music, and cuisine, as well as learn more about the various cultural, legal, financial, and housing programs offered by the Nigerian Center.

This year’s event promises to be a rich and diverse cultural experience, providing a platform for the Nigerian Center to share the vibrant traditions and opportunities of Nigeria with the wider Washington D.C. community.

Commenting on the upcoming event, Gbenga Ogunjimi, executive director, Nigerian Center, said the Nigerian Center is excited to participate in this year’s Passport DC event to strengthen Nigeria’s standing in Washington, DC through cultural diplomacy.

According to Ogunjimi, the theme of musical diplomacy resonates deeply with the Nigerian community, as Nigerian music continues to gain global recognition and transcends cultural barriers like never before.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to tell the Nigerian story in Washington, D.C,” he added.
