Paymentology taps Kesheni Moodley to drive Africa expansion

Paymentology, a leading global card issuing and processing platform, has appointed Kesheni Moodley as its regional director for Africa.

The appointment comes as African banks, fintechs and mobile money operators accelerate investment in modern issuing platforms to support digital-first payment products, driven by rapid mobile adoption and a growing shift towards real-time and card-based transactions.

Paymentology, which has operated in African markets for several years, works with financial institutions and fintech groups to deliver card issuing and processing services using cloud-first technology. The company said Moodley’s appointment would strengthen its regional leadership and support its efforts to scale programme management and client engagement as competition intensifies in the payments ecosystem.

Moodley brings more than two decades of experience spanning information and communications technology, payments and enterprise technology. In her new role, she will be responsible for expanding Paymentology’s footprint across Africa, deepening relationships with existing clients and supporting the delivery of locally tailored payment solutions.

She joins from Ozow, the South African instant payments platform, where she most recently served as chief commercial officer, having previously led client success. During her time at Ozow, she was involved in shaping commercial strategy and supporting the expansion of real-time payments, an area that has seen strong growth as merchants and consumers seek faster and more seamless digital payment options.

Before Ozow, Moodley spent nearly six years at Accenture, where she held senior leadership roles in operations consulting and business transformation, alongside sales leadership responsibilities for large enterprise clients. Earlier in her career, she worked at IBM and Siemens in client executive and business development roles, gaining experience across complex technology deployments and large-scale commercial engagements.

Anna Porra, Paymentology’s chief revenue officer, said Moodley’s blend of commercial acumen and operational expertise would be central to the company’s regional strategy. “Kesheni brings a rare combination of deep market knowledge and hands-on experience in scaling technology-led businesses. As African fintechs and banks look to build resilient, scalable and compliant payment products, her leadership will be critical in helping our clients grow with confidence,” she said.

Moodley said the pace of digitisation across African markets presented a significant opportunity for payments providers that can deliver reliable and inclusive infrastructure. “Mobile-first adoption is accelerating, and expectations for always-on payment experiences are rising. Paymentology enables issuers to scale securely and efficiently, and I look forward to working with clients and partners to support the next phase of payments growth across the continent,” she said.
