Jerty Ishaya Mangai, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) in Plateau State, has promised to boost the agricultural and mining sector if elected into office.
Mangai, during an interactive session with some journalists in Jo’s, said he would partner with China to produce factories that will refine mineral resources and agricultural produce into finished products.
Mangai also harped on farmers/herders’ clash, which he said was critical to the economy.
But he also noted that the zoning of the governorship in Plateau has denied credible politicians the opportunity to provide better change for Nigeria.
“I believed that zoning encourage corruption, it does not allow people with reputable and rich credentials to contest election particularly the governorship election. I don’t believe in zoning that was why I am contesting governorship election from Plateau Central.
“I believe that my chances are very bright, I have support from both Christians and Muslims in Plateau. Religious leaders are preaching with my name because I mingle with all people both the young, the middle and the aged,” he said of his chances at the poll.
He further emphasized that he will run an all inclusive government where all communities in the state would be represented and that he will tackle the insecurity in the state.
