R.T. Briscoe's DMD elected LCCI Auto Sectoral Group Chairman

….Renews commitment to sectoral inclusivity


A change of leadership within the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) Auto & Allied Sub-sectoral Group was effected on Thursday, August 7, 2025 following the election of Dr Olurunfemi Abidemi Eguakhide as the new Chairman.

The election of Dr. Eguakhide, the current group deputy managing director of R.T. Briscoe (Nigeria) Plc followed the expiration of office of Otunba Adekunke Jaiyesimi, deputy managing director of CFAO Mobility that served for two terms.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Femi Eguakhide thanked members of the LCCI Auto & Allied Sector Group for electing him as the new chairman.

“I want to thank everyone for the confidence reposed in me and especially R.T. Briscoe (Nigeria) Plc that comes first as institutional member company of the sector. I want to specifically thank Otunba Adekunke Jaiyesimi, the outgoing chairman for a job well done and for positively stirring the affairs of the Auto and allied sector in the Chambers”.

The new chairman promised that, the main focus will be to galvanize membership that are inactive to come back fully to enable a robust conversation, enable contribution on ideas and strategies that will move the sector forward very quickly.

“According to him, “The very first thing we will need to do is to drive membership aggressively. That is the very first thing and in doing that, we can now draw from everyone’s experience and put together whatever it is, and have a robust position in terms of advocacy, advise to the larger house to be able to impact government policies and decision making that will then then move the country forward”.

Dr. Olorunfemi Abidemi Eguaikhide is the deputy managing director with direct responsibility for business operations. He holds a post-graduate diploma in Business Administration and an MBA in Marketing Management from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

He is an alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School of the Pan Atlantic University having attended the Advanced Management Program (AMP) in 2016. He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (MCIPM), Associate Member of the
Nigerian Institute for Training and Development (AITD), Fellow of the Institute of
Credit Administration (FICA), Certified Digital Marketing Professional (CDMP) and
a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria.

His core experience is in the areas of operations management, sales and marketing management, human resources and business leadership. He is the current vice president of the Association of automobile, boatyard, Transport Equipment and
Allied Employers of Nigeria. (AABTEAEN).

Dr. Eguaikhide previously worked with Genesis Group variously as deputy general manager, human
resources and IT, general manager HR & IT, general manager, operations and
chief operations officer at The Bridge Healthcare Company in 2010.

He joined the company as group head, human capital development in 2012 and was appointed to manage the Briscoe-Ford Business unit in 2014 as general manager.

He was subsequently appointed as head of the Briscoe-Motors Business unit in 2017 and group chief operating officer in September 2018.

Femi Eguakhide obtained his
Doctorate degree in December 2021. He was appointed a director
of the company with effect from September 1, 2019 while his appointment as deputy managing director took effect from January 1, 2025. He was born on March 28,1968.
