Revamping Adalpalm, rubber plantation, power plant dominate PDP election campaign at Ohaji/Egbema

Plans to resuscitate the largest oil palm plantation owned by Imo State government, the rubber plantation at Obitti  in Ohaji/Egbema local government area, which has been left to rut by both past and present  governments, to ensure they operate at optimal levels took the centre stage   of the  election campaign promises  of  Emeka Ihedioha,  the  governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) at Ohaji/Egbema local government area.

The completion and revamping of the Egbema Power Plant which was abandoned by the present government was also among the election campaign promises which topped the list of the things Emeka Ihedioha is selling to electorates.

The completion of the Egbema power plant would enhance power generation, power transmission and power distribution in the entire state where manufacturing activities are at lowest ebb when compared with the manufacturing activities and outputs in the neighbouring states due to the epileptic power supply by the Enugu Electric Distribution Center (EEDC).

In Imo State, many manufacturing firms have closed shop and some have also relocated to other states making the Owerri- Onitsha Road Industrial Layout located in Irete, Owerri West local government area a shadow of itself.

PDP governorship candidate, Emeka Ihedioha, after x-raying the abundant mineral and non mineral resources at Ohaji Egbema described it as the hen that lays the golden egg for Imo State and as a result deserves huge benefits in return, saying that if he wins the governorship election, his government would ensure the people are well treated in everything.

The revamping of the moribund state investments, Ihedioha said would create opportunities for jobs for the people and when more jobs are created and youths are gainfully employed there would be less tendency to indulge in crimes and criminalities .

“When you create jobs, you have tackled insecurity in Ohaji Egbema and Imo State in general,” he stated.

In Imo state Ohaji Egbema and Oguta local government areas are volatile, full of youth restiveness and unrest.

Also to reap the benefits as the hen that lays the golden egg, the Imo State oil producing area development commission (ISOPADEC) will be made to function effectively in accordance with the law that established it, Ihedioha promised .

He further promised that the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Act, should be implemented effectively in the state.
