In order to combat youth unemployment in Anambra State, Decagon Institute is collaborating with the Valentine Chineto Ozigbo (VCO) Foundation to provide skilled software engineering training to young people and to make it easier for them to enter the global tech sector.
High-achieving Anambra graduates interested in technology now have the chance to receive a guarantee from the VCO Foundation for student loans so they can enrol in the Decagon Software Engineering Training Programme.
“We are honoured to join forces with Decagon Institute in this cooperation,” said Valentine Ozigbo, the founder of the VCO Foundation, adding, “through this partnership, we are investing not only in the individuals but also in the entire Ndi Anambra community and beyond.”
“We are preparing our students to drive innovation and advancement by giving them access to cutting-edge technology. The Decagon Programme aims to uncover potentials, create possibilities, and shape Anambra’s future rather than just teaching people how to code. We all succeed when our young people do well,” Ozigbo continued.
Decagon Institute has produced almost 1,000 software engineers who have been placed in major tech companies like Microsoft, Interswitch, Flutterwave, and financial institutions like JP Morgan and Sterling Bank.
Their training programme offers lodging, meals, laptops, and a welcoming community of software developers. It is distinctive for its PAY AFTER YOU LEARN option.
The cooperation will play a crucial part in assisting Anambra residents, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to receive Decagon’s thorough training. The foundation is unwavering in its conviction that technology and education can spur social change.
“We are overjoyed to collaborate with the VCO Foundation and broaden the scope of our programme to include talented people from Anambra State,” said Chika Nwobi, chief executive officer of Decagon Institute.
He added that this relationship “strengthens our commitment to equipping them with essential skills and support for their success in the tech industry, ensuring a promising future.”
At Decagon, we believe that talent knows no limits; as a result, we’ve empowered more than 80 developers from Anambra State through our extensive training programme. Together with the Valentine Chineto Ozigbo (VCO) Foundation, we are stepping up our efforts to mentor and teach more Anambra State graduates so they can enrol in our market-leading programme.
This cooperation promises to close the skills gap and advance inclusivity in the digital industry for Anambra natives while also fostering the development of a generation of skilled tech professionals who can stimulate innovation and economic growth in Anambra State.
