T2, formerly known as 9mobile, has signed a multi-million-dollar partnership with India’s Knot Solutions to overhaul its Business and Operations Support Systems (BSS/OSS), a move the company says is central to its ongoing transformation strategy.
The deal was formally announced by Obafemi Banigbe, the chief executive officer of T2, during a signing ceremony at the GITEX Nigeria Tech Expo and Future Economy Conference in Lagos.
He explained that the agreement marks a critical step in the company’s four-phase roadmap — stabilisation, modernisation, transformation, and growth — as it seeks to reposition itself for a strong comeback in Nigeria’s competitive telecoms sector.
“This structured approach underscores our commitment to restoring competitiveness, driving customer-focused innovation, and enabling Nigeria’s digital future,” Banigbe said.
Framing the partnership as a defining moment for the company, Banigbe added that it reflects renewed investor confidence, particularly led by Thomas Etuh, T2’s chairman. He described the project as more than just a systems upgrade, calling it a “customer-first revolution” designed to redefine how millions of Nigerians experience digital services.
“T2 is poised to redefine the digital experience for millions of Nigerian customers. This is not just a system upgrade. It is a customer-first revolution that transforms how people interact with their digital world—seamlessly, instantly, and on their terms,” he stated.
Banigbe also outlined T2’s broader vision of evolving beyond traditional telecommunications into a platform that integrates voice, data, digital financial services, cloud solutions, content, and lifestyle products. “We are building an ecosystem where connectivity unlocks possibilities across entertainment, education, commerce, and financial empowerment,” he said.

On his part, Sumanth Konuru, chief executive officer of Knot Solutions, said the partnership comes at a time when the African telecoms market is undergoing rapid change, with BSS/OSS modernisation playing a central role. He noted that through its flagship cloud-native platform, RaptrDXP™, T2 can transition from rigid legacy models into a dynamic, hyper-personalised ecosystem.
“Through our flagship cloud-native platform, RaptrDXP™, T2 can move beyond rigid models into a dynamic, hyper-personalised ecosystem. We are proud to join this journey. This is not just about efficiency; it is about delivering unmatched customer experiences, from real-time billing to tailored service bundles. We are proud to join this journey,” Konuru said.
The deal with Knot Solutions is part of T2’s broader revival strategy following years of turbulence that saw its subscriber base plummet from more than 23 million to under three million. Since its rebranding in August this year, the company has embarked on an aggressive transformation plan anchored on partnerships with global technology providers.
Just last month, T2 entered into another multi-million-dollar agreement with Huawei to modernise its core network infrastructure, signalling its commitment to both service reliability and customer experience. With the two deals, the company said it is driving a dual transformation: delivering faster, more reliable connectivity while simultaneously building smarter, customer-first systems that support seamless digital lifestyles.
The partnerships with Knot Solutions and Huawei, Banigbe noted, form a critical part of T2’s four-phase roadmap to restore competitiveness, stabilise its operations, and lay the foundation for long-term growth in Nigeria’s telecom industry.
