Tinubu okays N18bn assurance policy to compensate families of fallen heroes families

President Bola Tinubu has approved a N18 billion fund for the Group Life Assurance benefits and other entitlements of families of fallen heroes of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
The N18 billion is to be distributed among the families of the fallen heroes, in line with their entitlement as set out in the Armed Forces Act.
President Tinubu made the announcement at the launch of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem appeal at the State House in Abuja.
During the event, the president also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the nation’s armed forces and ensuring that they are repositioned to meet the security challenges facing the country.
The President also pledged his support for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, a national event that honours and remembers the sacrifices made by members of the Nigerian Armed Forces in defense of the country.
“I have approved the sum of N18 billion naira for the payment of Group Life Assurance benefits and other entitlements to the families of service members who have lost their lives in the line of duty,” he announced.
